项目位于常州高新区核心地带，紧靠常州未来金融商务中心，基地南临北塘河，西侧为承载常州独特地理文化特色的东经120路，属于恐龙园生态圈，交通便捷且极具地标意义。虽然有着一整个街区的充裕建筑用地，但是建筑师并没有选择传统城市居住体系单一的点式或板式布局，如果说以上的布局是在水泥森林中种下一棵棵树，那么是否也可以在城市中塑造一座独特生态系统的山，在城市的尺度上这是一方精致的盆景，在人的尺度上则是一座可以攀可游可居的微山。

The project lies in the heart of Changzhou National Hi-Tech District, close to Changzhou’s future financial business center. On the south flows Beitang River, and on the west is Dongjing 120 Road, a geographic and cultural showcase of Changzhou. Situated within the Dinosaur Park business circle, it enjoys excellent access and serves as a landmark in the area. The entire neighborhood is reserved for construction purpose, the architect, however, did not adopt the boring point block or slab block layouts, which are popular with traditional urban residence. If point block or slab block buildings are trees planted in a concrete jungle, why don’t we create a hill with an ecosystem in the city? It will be a miniature landscape to the city, and a mini hill to the people, where they may live, tour and do climbing.

建筑师选择将300米长的街区界面进行围合，以一个完整而灵动的形体，让建筑同时具有内外两种性格，对外呈现连绵的山峦，以起伏的天际线柔化城市的轮廓。越过山峰则是一方宁静的天地，有屋舍，有园林，有水景，这里没有城市的喧嚣，有的是鸟语花香。建筑师用以小见大的手法，描摹着世人向往的宁静安逸的桃源生活,城市的繁华与山的宁静形成了鲜明的对比。

The architect decided to circle the neighborhood with a 300m enclosure, which forms a complete, lively profile to give the building two characters, i.e., the skyline of the city is softened by the rolling hill outline, and within lies a quiet retreat with residences, gardens and waterscapes, away from the urban hubbubs and close to chirping birds and blooming flowers. The architect uses small things to express big ideas and depicts a sanctum of peace and tranquility, a Shangri-La that people dream of, to bring out the sharp contrast between a bustling city and a quiet hill.

建筑空间在虚实刚柔、藏露疏密关系中演绎变化，裙房朝向内庭院开放多个露台，不同季节、不同时段，露台呈现不同的艺术氛围。庭院北侧为可上人活动屋面，向南通过层层跌落的景观和多层次的绿化，逐渐过渡到地面的水景和广场，南侧北塘河的风光也通过架空层进入庭院内。多重景深的内部空间中，80米高的高层建筑则如青山远黛,让园中风景也有了屏障和依托。

The building space evolves between the solid and void, the rigid and flexible, the exposed and concealed, and the dense and sparse. The annex building has several terraces that open to the courtyard, and they produce an artistic atmosphere that changes with the hours and seasons. On the north of the courtyard is a roof surface open to human activities, which lowers level by level in landscapes and plantings down to the waterscapes and square on the ground. And the view of Beitang River on the south, through the open floor, is visible in the courtyard. Among the distant and close views, the 80m high-rise building stands like a mountain, protecting the inner garden and serving as a background for the scenery.

人间烟火 —— 山上居山下食

Hustle and Bustle – Live Upstairs and Dine Downstairs

项目做为面向年轻人的社群居所，提供了多种公寓户型，主力户型为34-47㎡，打造了常州首个双钥匙复式公寓，5.1米挑空空间，看得见常州最好景观的大落地玻璃，为年轻人的生活激发了更多想象力。除高层公寓外，这座建筑的另一核心功能是位于首层、全龄向的新型菜市场。这座集市既为常州带来城市商业活力，也为地块内居民形成生活引力场，在熙熙攘攘的讨价还价之间，重新链接人们的生活。菜市场通过口腹链接人的关系，而在其之上的屋顶平台和地面的休闲广场，则通过品味来连接人的行为。

The project aims at youngsters and provides various types of flats, mainly 34-47sqm in size. The first duplex flats with two keys in Changzhou, the products boast of 5.1m ceiling height and vast French windows for the best view of Changzhou, inspiring the imaginations of the young people in their life. Beside the high-rise flats, the building offers another core function, i.e., a new-type Market Complex for all ages in the first floor. It will boost the commercial activities in Changzhou, and attract consumers from the neighborhood, reconnecting people’s life in bargaining. While the Market Complex connects people by food, the terraces on the roof and the square on the ground connect people by their taste.

菜市场之上是一片点缀着景观小品的屋面休闲平台，既是运动休闲的场地，又是面向下方庭院的观众席，而可喜的是，这小小的一方园地也总是会有常州最潮流最有人气的活动发生，音乐会，脱口秀，手作市集等接二连三的活动，不断为这座城市微山增添新的色彩。山上人家，山下集市，建筑师希望“到楼下走走，去楼上坐坐”能成为这座社区的居民时常想的问候话语。

Above the Market Complex are roof terraces designed with tiny landscapes. They are playgrounds as well as auditoriums over the courtyard below, where the most fashionable and popular events in Changzhou, concerts, stand-up comedies, handicrafts bazaars, etc., are staged from time to time, making this mini hill downtown a wonderful place. Living up the hill and shopping down the hill, people in this community will, as the architect should expect, greet each other by “take a stroll downstairs” and “have a break upstairs”.

韵律光影 —— 木之律光之影

Light and Shadow – Rhythm of Wood and Shadow of Light

项目裙房首层用大块玻璃反射城市环境及景色，二层及以上则以纤细的“木条”传达自然的主题，不同颜色、不同角度、疏密有致的百叶如音符般上下跳跃，亦希望将活力和喜悦传递到城市中。氟碳喷涂仿木铝板百叶被分为成三种角度，左偏15°、右偏15°以及垂直于玻璃面，并排列刻画出山丘剪影。色彩上则经过多次比选、配色，最终从敦煌壁画色彩搭配、以及木纹沟壑本身明暗深浅中得以启发，选定三种明度、三种颜色的铝板以渐变的方式排列出曲线，呼应山脉轮廓。同时，色彩的调和，打破了现代材料的冷漠感，柔化了建筑的体积感，边界感，拉近与人之间的距离。

In the first floor of the annex building, large glass panels are installed to mirror the city environment and scenery, and in the floors above slim wooden strips are used to bring out the theme of nature. The shutters of different colors, angles and gaps are dancing notes to transmit vigor and joy into the city. The fluorocarbon-sprayed imitation-wood aluminum shutters are in three angles, 15 degrees to the left, 15 degrees to the right and vertical to the glass panel, arranging and depicting the silhouette of the hill. The selection and matching of colors took quite some time, and in the end the architect, inspired by the color plan of Dunhuang frescoes and the changing shades of the wood grains, decided on aluminum panels in three brightnesses and three colors, which are arranged in curves of changing color and brightness to represent the profile of the hill. The colors are so blended that the coldness that modern materials are often accused of is done away, softening the building’s feel of volume and distance, and narrowing the gap between people.

裙房屋面则勾勒出如山丘般起伏的城市天际线，每一片呈对角线倾斜的屋面，都使空间得以向多个方向延伸。屋面采用不同孔率、不同尺寸的三角形穿孔板，获得半私密效果和安全性的同时，空间依然保持舒适性和透气性。穿孔板分为两种排列方式，整体屋面穿孔形式呈现出规则排列，在屋面延伸到立面的时候，三角形尺寸、孔率及排列方式呈现丰富的层次感。傍晚，灯光从孔洞星星点点冒出，描绘一幅独特的、星光熠熠的城市美景。

On the roof of the annex building, rolling profiles are designed to represent the city skyline, and each section of the roof surface tilts along the diagonal so that the space extends in multiple directions. Perforated triangle panels of different open areas and sizes are used in the roof to provide privacy and security while ensuring comfortable, ventilated space. The perforated panels are arranged regularly on the roof according to the opening patterns, and, when it comes to the fa?ade, the triangle sizes, open areas and arrangement diversify to produce a sense of variation. As night falls, light twinkles in the holes and puts on a unique, starry cityscape.

这座山成为了人们心中的一片净土，让人们在繁忙的都市生活中找到了宁静与和谐。一座城需要有一座山才能够衬托城市的魅力。城里有座山，山里有座城，这种独特的方式将自然与城市完美地融合在一起。它不仅为城市居民提供了宜居的生活环境，也展示了建筑师呼唤对自然环境的尊重和保护。

This hill will be a Pure Land where people may find peace and harmony in the bustling city life. A city needs a hill to set out her charm. With a hill in the city, and a city in the hill, this unique design combines the nature with the city, providing citizens with a livable environment and presenting the architect’s call for respect and preservation of the nature.
